#Brown Rice Dhokla
Khatta Dhokla are usually made with the mixture of rice, urad dal and curd. Here I have made with little variation by using brown rice also alongwith the regular basmati white rice.

Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Brown Rice Dhokla:
- 1 cup regular basmati rice
- 1 cup brown rice
- 1 cup urad dal
- 1/2 cup curd
- 1/2 cup poha (flattenened rice)
- ginger chilli paste (optional)
- pinch baking soda or eno fruit salt
- to taste salt
- pinch sugar
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
Instructions to make to make Brown Rice Dhokla
- Wash and soak rice and urad dal seperately for 5-6 hours
grind them seperately. Add little curd while grinding and little water
Add a tsp of salt and mix everything nicely
- Let the batter ferment for 5-6 hours (fermentation time may vary based on the weather / temprature).
This batter doesnt need much fermentation.
- Once the batter is fermented add sugar, very little salt, baking soda or eno fruit salt, add ginger chilli paste -optional, add little oil and mix everything.
Heat a wok with water.
- Grease a plate with oil and pour some batter adding pinch of red chilli powder spreading it all over the plate
Steam the dhoklas for 7-10 minutes.
Serve it with mint coriander chuntey, ketchups or with oil and achar masala.
