- 1/2 cup Basmati rice -
- 1 cup Jackfruit - (peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces)
- 1/2 cup Fried onion -
- 1/2 cup Curd -
- as per taste Salt
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 8 Clove
- 2 each Cardamom green and black -
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1tsp Whole black pepper -
- 1 Star Anis -
- 1 Mace/javitri
- 1/2tsp Garam masala -
- 2 tsp Desi ghee
- 1tsp Garlic Ginger paste -
- 1 tbsp Mint leaves,-
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves -
- 1 tbsp Ginger .(cut into stripe s)
- 1 tbsp Desi ghee
- 7-8 Saffron- threads+ 1/4 th cup milk
- 1 cup For the raita - Curd -
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Garlic - .grated
Instructions to make to make Jackfruit Biryani with Burani raita
- Heat oil in a karahi.Deep fry jackfruit pieces until golden brown.Keep it aside.


- Boil rice into 4 cups.of water,add salt, cardamom,clove, mace,star anise, black pepper,cumin seeds and 1 tb. Ghee.Cook rice until 80 percent cooked.Strain it and keep the water aside.



- Take curd in a non-stick pan or heavy bottom pan,add salt,red chilli powder turmeric powder,garlic ginger paste,fried onion(half the quantity), ginger strips,garam masala,biryani masala and fried jackfruit pieces.Mix it well.Cover it with boiled rice.Mix 2 tb.spoon. rice water.Sprinkle saffron milk,mint leaves and fried onion on top of it. Pour ghee from the sides and on the top.Cover the pan with lid and seal it with wheat dough from all sides.Cook it on a low flame for 20 min.



- Your delicious jackfruit biryani is ready to serve.
- For raita - Take curd in a bowl,mix salt and red chilli powder. Heat oil in a tadka pan,add garlic,when the colour changes, switch off the gas.Strain it.Mix oil in curd.Your Burani raita is ready.



- Serve Jackfruit biryani with Burani raita and salad.
