- 400 gm beef (mix meat)
- 3 onions (2 crispy brown - 1 for gravy)
- 1 tbs Ginger garlic paste
- 1.5 tbs red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tbs biryani masala
- 1 tbs tikka masala
- 1 bowl yogurt (whipped)
- 2 potatoes (cut into 4-6 pieces)
- 15-18 green chilies small whole
- Oil
- 3 cups rice
- Mint
- Condiments for rice (4 cloves, few peppercorn, cumin, cinnamon, bay leaf)
- coriander (chopped)
- 1 tomato (cut semi-circle)
- 2 tbs kewra water
- Zarda rung
- Oil
Instructions to make to make Jhatphat Beef Biryani
- Pour oil and heat up the pot. Add thin slices of onion, once it turns soft and pink add beef.



- Put ginger garlic and green whole chilies. Fry it for a while. Then add chili powder, turmeric, zeera powder, coriander powder, Biryani masala and tikka masala.


- Fry it well for 5 mins. Take yogurt and pour into bowl. Whip it properly.


- Pour whipped yogurt in gravy. Cook it properly till meat gets tender and soft. Once it gets soft add potatoes and cook for 10 more minutes


- In the mean while, take a big pot for rice. Add mint and all condiments in water. Once water get started boiling, add rice and salt


- Boil and strain it


- Biryani gravy is almost done. Just add tomatoes on the top and fried crispy onions.

- Add coriander, put chilies inside, squeeze lemon and sprinkle zarda rung with kewra. Cover it properly, keep the flame slow and wait for steam.

- After 10-15 mins, slowly remove the lid and check if the steam is coming. Mix the biryani with big spatula at one side on the pot.
- Yummy… so delicious aroma of biryani revolved around my home. Serve with raita and ketchumber. This easy and quick biryani makes my life easy.
